Over the years, the fact has been proven to me again and again. From many whose names I could not remember, and faces I could not identify, have come words of thanks and blessings for my loving for them and the prayers for them in their darkest hours.
I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet. But just want to respond to a dangerous trend of leadership - where leaders wants to be served and standing 'too tall' from the people in his or her flock, or standing 'too far' that the people could not get close.
The truth is that years from now... no, I think weeks from now - your people will scarcely remember the sermons you preached. But I promise, they will never forget the love you showed them, the encouragement you gave them and the time you've spent on them.
Love your people. The will love you back.
"It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you IN MY HEART." (Philippians 1:7)
